Dr. Michael Lewis

Dr. Michael Lewis, originally from Owen Sound, Ontario, has been immersed in the world of vision health from a young age. With both parents in ophthalmology, he had the unique opportunity to work alongside them as an ophthalmic assistant and visual field technician during his teenage years, sparking his lifelong passion for eye care.

Dr. Lewis’s academic journey began at the University of Western Ontario, where he earned an honors bachelor of science degree in genetics, followed by a master’s degree in molecular biology. He then managed and conducted research in a genetic and endocrinology lab focused on breast cancer at Western, while also assisting in teaching undergraduate courses and publishing several journal articles.

Driven by a passion for advancing his expertise in vision care, Dr. Lewis earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, graduating with distinction on the Dean’s Honour List in 2008. After completing his studies, he gained valuable experience as an associate in Victoria, BC, before returning to Ontario to open his own practice. Dr. Lewis is thrilled to offer comprehensive eye care services to the Kingston community, where he is dedicated to providing personalized care and building lasting relationships with his patients.
